MASKS REQUIRED FOR ALL IN-PERSON INSTRUCTION AND TESTING PER STATE GUIDELINES.
Driver education for adult students 18 and older is a 14-hour course which consists of 6 classroom hours including a written test and 8 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. The driving instruction is generally done in 2-hour increments. Following successful completion of the 14-hour course, students may test for a license. The cost for adults is $375 which includes 6 hour classroom course, written exam, driver's guide, 8 hours of driving instruction, certificate of completion, and the road skills testing. Students may register with $100 deposit but will not be allowed to begin driving instruction until paid in full.
Students may not begin any instruction until they have received a Temporary Instruction Permit from the DMV. To receive this TIP, students must take a current state ID or original birth certificate and pay approximately $36. At the current time, there will not be a charge to upgrade from the TIP to a license or learners permit when driver education is complete.
*Some beginning drivers are encouraged to get a permit for additional practice before testing for a license. These students may return for a road skills test at no additional cost when they are ready.
